Georgetown -Swish, crack, roll…plunk. Those noises and the sounds of cheers or groans could be heard from students as they made their way around the miniature golf course set up in the Georgetown Middle High School gymnasium Saturday.

Helping the Trestle Way greenhouse
Georgetown -Two years ago the Trestle Way greenhouse was in need of help to keep operating over the winter. Trestle Way resident and well-known artist Judi Bartnicki stepped up to help by donating a gorgeous color pointillism painting of a young girl entranced by sand on a beach. When the highly successful raffle of that artwork was complete, the greenhouse had door repairs, a new heater and money for fuel.

All articles pass at fall special Town Meeting
Georgetown -Attendees at Monday night’s fall Town Meeting were out the door in an hour and 20 minutes after all 11 articles were quickly passed — many with unanimous votes. Only two articles drew debate, the first being adjustments to the fiscal year 2009 operating budget and the second being the two articles relating to affordable housing in town.

Georgetown -It’s sure to be a new and tasty adventure for Groveland’s Alan Russell when he opens AL’s Pizza Place next week. The new restaurant replaces Jo Jo’s Pizza on West Main Street in downtown Georgetown.

Crazy court antics at theatre workshop
Georgetown -Local audiences are chuckling over the onstage antics of a hilariously eccentric bunch of characters. The currently running Georgetown Theatre Workshop production of John Anthony’s “Sandbag Stage Left, or One Dead Dolly,” is set in the out-of-control courtroom of Judge Roy L. Bean. A lethal sandbag has been dropped on a woman during a community theater production of “Hello Dolly” and now the suspected murderer is on trial.
